Note: Section 2, 3, 4, 5 describes the knowledge areas and how they organize the 42 management processes. For each process what are the inputs, tools & techniques and outputs.
KNOWLEDGE AREAS:
1) Project Integration Management:
It describes the processes and activities that integrate the various elements of project management, which are identified, defined, combined, unified, and coordinated within the Project Management Process Groups. The chapter will deal with all the seven processes within it.
2) Project Scope Management:
It describes the processes involved in ascertaining that the project includes all the work required, and only the work required, to complete the project successfully. The chapter deals with all the five processes within it.
3) Project Time Management:
It describes the processes concerning the timely completion of the project. The chapter will deal with all the six processes within it.
4) Project Cost Management:
It describes the processes involved in planning, estimating, budgeting and controlling costs so that the project is completed within the approved budget. The chapter deals with all the three processes within it.
5) Project Quality Management:
It describes the processes involved in assuring that the project will satisfy the objectives for which it was undertaken. The chapter deals with all the three processes within it.
6) Project Human Resource Management:
It describes the processes that organize and manage the project team. The chapter deals with all the four processes within it.
7) Project Communications Management:
It describes the processes concerning the timely and appropriate generation, collection, dissemination, storage and ultimate disposition of project information. The chapter deals with all the four processes within it.
8) Project Risk Management:
It describes the processes concerned with conducting risk management on a project. The chapter deals with all the six processes within it.
9) Project Procurement Management:
It describes the processes that purchase or acquire products, services or results, as well as contract management processes. The chapter deals with all the six processes within it.
